Morocco is one of the most beautiful places one can visit. It’s the place where European and Arab architecture and infrastructure collide thus giving us a unique experience. Morocco is a mystical, colorful land that everyone needs to visit in their lifetime. One of the best ways to truly absorb everything that Morocco has to offer, not just touristy stuff, is to travel with your motorcycle.
Reasons to travel Morocco with a motorcycle
Many people stick to the “regular” tourist trips and see things that their tour guides show, but in order to fully absorb everything a culture has to offer you need to think outside the books. Reasons to take your motorcycle adventure products and travel Morocco with your bike only are numerous, but here are the most important ones:
  • Harmony – sure, driving a car or sitting in a bus is easier, but it can't match the feeling you have while riding through Morocco on your bike. This type of tour trip puts you in harmony with your surroundings regardless of where you are, in open plains or cool Middle Atlas mountains
  • Affordable – riding a bike through Morocco is a cost-effective way to see this beautiful country. Although prices vary, a round-trip involving 10-day traverse of northern Morocco could cost about US $580 or 5500 Moroccan dirham
  • Badass – bike rides are incredibly liberating and significant boost to your ego regardless of where you are. These feelings only amplify in Morocco. Let's stay you stop by at Royal Mansour, a luxury oasis constructed by the king of Morocco inside the Marrakech's old medina, and the bellmen will greet you in front of great gates and treat you like a king. Yes, even if you're all sweaty and tired. Nothing says you're a badass and gentleman like touring Morocco with your bike
  • Not a single boring sight – yet another reason to pack and ride through Morocco is the sheer beauty of this place. It’s a big country with plenty of things to see from the Atlas Mountains and Sahara to the Atlantic Ocean coast. As you're riding through Morocco, the scenery keeps changing which is something you can't always find elsewhere
  • Quality roads – contrary to popular belief, roads in Morocco are suitable for smooth bike roads. It’s not Germany, but the country still has better roads than you expect. That said, you should be careful when riding through Northern part of the country due to slippery roads.
Other reasons to ride through Morocco include endless trails and off-road paths, warm weather, and diverse, vibrant culture.

Morocco is not just some sort of a vast desert-like many people tend to believe, and it's a lively country with plenty of things to see. Your motorcycle ride through Morocco can be a self-guided tour where you get informed about things you want to see and go there by yourself. Or you can join motorcycle tours that take you through Casablanca, Marrakech, or other places depending on where you want to go. With a few clicks, it’s easy to find and book one such tour online.
In the section above, we’ve mentioned a few places that are worth seeing in Morocco, but here is the more detailed list:
  • Rif mountains – a mountainous region in northern Morocco. It offers breathtaking views of the azure Mediterranean. When riding through this region, you can also visit atmospheric towns of Tetouan and Chefchaouen where you can also take a stroll through beautiful blue streets. Along the roads of Rif Mountains, one reaches the old imperial city called Fez, a beautiful place with massive gates, enormous walls. In fact, Fez is one of the biggest medieval cities that is still inhabited
  • Atlas – a mountain range in the Maghreb stretching through Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. While riding through these mountains, you'll see thousand-year-old cedar forests in the Middle Atlas before reaching High Atlas where you can see Berbers, the natives of Morocco who live as nomads. From there, you can reach the oases and Erg Chebbi, the largest Moroccan sand desert
  • Gorges of Todra and Dades – located on the south side of High Atlas, an outstanding scenery. If you keep riding, you’ll reach the caravan checkpoint of Ait Benhaddou, whose center is declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO
Regardless of where you go to Morocco, you can easily find Hammam, a public steam bath that will help you relax after a long ride. If you’re visiting Marrakesh, make sure you have dinner at the Djemma el Fna, a central square of this beautiful city and unwind or get much-needed rest in Majorelle Gardens.

Besides a passport, motorcycle, and other arrangements prior to the trip you also need some essential accessories in order to make your tour in Morocco unforgettable. Here are some of those things you may need:
  • Engine case covers – offers added protection and durability to the engine during spill, slide, or an impact. They are built to provide securing without adding extra weight
  • Frame guards – made from extra-strength alloy, easy to install, protect frames from damage
  • Chain guards – protect the chains from natural elements
  • Bash plate – safeguards the internal side of the bike frame during the accident
  • Oil cooler guards – protecting oil coolers from bugs, debris, stones, and pebbles
To make your tour through Morocco more enjoyable make sure you also carry a tire plug kit, GPS, helmet, extra gloves, proper footwear, rain gear, protective eyewear, waterproof luggage, bike tools, first aid kit, and water of course.
Conclusion
Touring Morocco on your motorcycle is an unforgettable experience. This beautiful country offers different landscapes and sceneries that you can’t see anywhere else. Pack up and hit the road.
