Founded in 1968, Royal Caribbean International (more commonly known as Royal Caribbean) has 22 ships in its fleet with a combined capacity of more than 56,000 guests making it one of the largest cruise lines in the world.
Royal Caribbean sails to the following destinations: Alaska, Asia, Australia, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada & New England, Caribbean, Dubai Emirates, Hawaii, The Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Panama, Private Beach Destinations, South America and Transatlantic.
What can you expect aboard a Royal Caribbean ship? By day you can expect activities such as rock climbing and swimming. Some of their ships even have mini-golf courses and ice skating rinks. All of the ships are known for a variety of spa services and top notch fitness facilities. By night the entertainment will come in the form of splashy over the top Vegas style productions or audience interactive games like “The Newlywed Game.”
The rooms aboard the ship include standard interior and ocean view cabins, several grades of suites ranging from a mini-suite to luxury deluxe, and ocean view balcony cabins. The most popular feature of the rooms on Royal Caribbean ships is their all-inclusive internet option that allows you to pay one flat fee to connect during the entire duration of your cruise. The connections are almost always reliable too.
With all of these awesome features, you may be wondering what the downside to cruising with Royal Caribbean. The most common complaint is that the ships do not offer much variety in the way of dining options. The cruise line has been developing this over the years, but short of one or two new restaurants that you can pay an additional fee at, you can expect food that is good, but not the highest quality in the world.
Even with the limited dining options, Royal Caribbean cruises are often given rave reviews. In fact, they have been voted "Best Cruise Line Overall" for 10 consecutive years by Travel Weekly Readers Choice Awards!
