The idea behind Norwegian Cruise Line is to live life to the fullest for the duration of your cruise. According to the company Norwegians “smile bigger, explore further and relax longer, because they’re free to let inspiration guide them from one experience to another. And while they’re at it, they create a whole lot of unforgettable stories they’ll share for years to come.”
Norwegian Cruise Line cruises to Alaska, the Bahamas, Canada, New England, the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, the Mexican Riviera and more. Their line collectively has more than 120 ports of call and more than 145 itineraries. As of this writing the company has 13 ships that currently cruise and two more are expected to join the fleet in 2015.
The cruise line offers many kid friendly activities making them a family-friendly brand. They offer activities for every age group too. Dodge ball, cupcake decorating, circus lessons such as juggling are just a few of the options for kids. There are also neat themed parties on the various ships to entertain them while mom and dad head off to play on their own. What sets their entertainment apart from other cruise lines is an exclusive deal with Nickelodeon that allows kids to watch fun shows, participate in family challenges or even have breakfast with characters from their favorite shows such as SpongeBob and friends.
In terms of on board dining Norwegian claims to have more options than any other cruise line. Their dining options were created to give you the freedom and flexibility to eat what you want, on the schedule you want. In fact, one ship alone, the Norwegian Getaway boasts 28 dining options, including seafood restaurant Ocean Blue by famed New York Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian and a branch of Carlo’s Bake Shop by Buddy Valastro, star of the TLC series "Cake Boss."
Like many cruise lines they offer lots of on board entertainment and a plethora of excursions at each port of call. One thing to note though is many of their favorite excursions tend to sell out quickly, so if you see something you want to do, book it fast!
