Mardi Gras, Carnival Cruise Line’s, newest ship will be the largest Carnival ship and will be the first ship to feature a roller coaster at sea.

Mardi Gras’ inaugural cruise will be a 9-day Northern Europe cruise from Copenhagen, Denmark to Southampton, England.
After its trans-Atlantic voyage in September of next year, it will start sailing to the Caribbean in October 2020 from Port Canaveral alternating weekly seven-night sailing to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. The Eastern cruise will make port visits to San Juan, Amber Cove, and Grand Turk, while the Western sailing will include calls at Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Mahogany Bay.
Staterooms, including suites such as Carnival’s Family Harbor, Havana Cabana, Cloud 9 Spa options, balcony, ocean view, and interior rooms, are all on sale starting this week. In total, Mardi Gras will offer 20 different stateroom categories.

The ship’s electric roller coaster, dubbed BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster will feature nearly 800 feet of twists, turns and drops with riders reaching speeds of nearly 40 miles per hour.
The new Mardi Gras will feature six themed “zones”--
  1. Grand Central (decks six through eight) which is Carnival’s take on a traditional atrium and includes Bonsai Sushi and Bonsai Teppanyanki along with the Punchliner Comedy Club and Piano Bar 88.
  2. The French Quarter (deck six aft), in a nod to the New Orleans’ culture that combines lively entertainment with an unparalleled food scene, French Quarter will be lined with new bars, music and eateries that perfectly capture the festive spirit of the Big Easy.
  3. La Piazza (deck eight), is an Italy-inspired area with Cucina del Capitano and Pizzeria del Capitano, a new Mediterranean restaurant. There’s also a bar where guests can savor cappuccino by day or classic Italian cocktails at night, while roaming musicians keep everyone entertained.
  4. Lido (decks 16 and 17) is where you will find varied casual poolside restaurants and Mardi Gras’ expanded Lido will take this to a whole new level with existing Carnival favorites like Guy’s Burger Joint, the New England-inspired Seafood Shack, and BlueIguana Cantina Mexican eatery, along with some new concepts to be announced at a later date that are sure to inspire foodie fans.
  5. Summer Landing (deck 8)  Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse/Brewhouse (deck 8) features an a la carte menu, featuring Guy's favorite down-home smoked-on-board barbecue and traditional sides and desserts. It also has a brewery within the restaurant that features a selection of distinctive craft beers.
  6. The Ultimate Playground (decks 18-20) will span Decks 18-20 and offer guests amazing sea vistas as they soak up the sun and the fun in this spacious family-friendly play area highlighted by the largest and most elaborate Carnival WaterWorks aqua park in the fleet, along with an expanded SportSquare. Here is where you will find the much-anticipated BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster, the first rollercoaster at sea, where riders race along an 800-foot-long track achieving speeds of nearly 40 miles per hour.
As well as for the highly-anticipated first roller coaster at sea, this ship is the first North American cruise ship to be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
Carnival’s Mardi Gras will have its unique vintage-themed cocktail bar, the Alchemy Bar and its steakhouse, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse.
Booking is now available for this wonderful new ship sailing to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral, Florida. Contact us for more information about cruising on the new Mardi Gras!
